A crash involving a cattle truck leaves one dead. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 37 near Mathis which remains closed as transportation crews continue to clean up the wreckage. DPS troopers say a cattle truck was northbound around noon, and traveling too fast, when he clipped the back of another northbound semi. The 18-wheeler lost control and struck an RV hauling a jeep causing both the RV and the cattle truck to roll over. The RV which was occupied Faith Hubbard, who tragically died, and her husband.  He and the driver of the cattle truck were transported to the hospital in Corpus Christi with non life threatening injuries. A failure to maintain speed citation will be issued to the driver of the cattle truck. Fourteen of the fifty-eight cattle died in the accident and the clean-up process is expected to last into the evening  The northbound lanes of the highway remain closed until the clean-up in completed.
