Fatal Accident Hwy 29 Burnet

The Burnet Police Department is currently investigating an early morning two vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Fredericksburg man this morning. Burnet Police responded to the 2100 block of East Hwy 29 at approximately 6:00a.m., in reference to an accident that involved an 18-Wheeler and a Chevy Astro Van. The investigation shows that the 18-Wheeler was traveling East bound, when the driver lost control of the truck, causing the truck to slide sideways across Hwy 29. The Chevy Astro Van was also traveling East bound on Hwy 29, the driver was unable to stop his vehicle and collided with the trailer of the 18-Wheeler. The driver of the Chevy Astro Van, identified as 37 year old Manuel Galindo-Camacho from Fredericksburg, died at the scene. The driver of the 18-Wheeler, who was identified as 36 year old David Shoot from Desoto, was not injured during the accident. Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Lisa Whitehead along with Edgars Funeral Home both responded to the scene. The Burnet Police Department was assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, along with the City of Burnet Fire/EMS Department.
