Man Killed In Head On Collision with 18-Wheeler

Man killed in head on collision with 18-wheeler early this morning has been identified as Justin Lusk, 32, of Gatesville.

Lusk was driving his Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck that crashed head-on with an 18 wheeler at about 5:30 a.m on Wednesday, Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson said. Lusk was pronounced dead at the scene near U.S. Highway 84 and Bone Road, just east of Gatesville.

By mid-morning the highway had returned to normal traffic after being closed early Wednesday.

The semi was carrying cars and was traveling westbound on U.S. 84 when the head-on crash happened with the red pickup truck, stated a witness that was close to the scene.

The truck 18-wheeler driver and his passenger were not injured.
