Two injured when bus, 18-wheeler crash on I-35

Two people were hospitalized after a Tuesday afternoon wreck involving an 18-wheeler and a bus on Interstate 35.
McLennan County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Cawthon said the wreck occurred about 2 p.m. at Mile Marker 315 on northbound I-35 in Bruceville-Eddy.
The bus, a Turimex International carrying 13 people, was rear-ended by the semi tractor- trailer.
Bruceville-Eddy police Chief Bill McLean said the bus driver and one passenger were injured in the wreck and were taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple with nonlife-threatening injuries about 2:30 p.m.
McLean said that type of accident is more common than it used to be on I-35, citing ongoing construction.
“This construction, with everyone being stop-and-go, creates an issue for everybody,” he said.
The remaining passengers were loaded onto a school bus and taken from the accident site about 3 p.m.
Sheriff’s office personnel assisted Bruceville-Eddy police at the scene.
